講演・パネル, 対面

Most Japanese families have a family emblem that has been passed down from generation to generation. Known as kamon, these family emblems feature many motifs ranging from floral designs to everyday tools that have been familiar to Japanese people since ancient
times. If the designs are categorized, it is said that there are more than 20,000 such emblems.

OJCA member Lilian Cailleaud will introduce the audience to Japanese kamon, their history and design. He has been studying Japanese heraldry for 20 years and has written several articles and given talks on the topic.
