Japan Past & Present provides lists of recommended readings on a variety of topics and themes related to the Japanese humanities.

Each of these JPP recommended reading lists has been carefully curated by one or more specialists in the relevant field. Some were created as a part of particular pedagogy projects; others were assembled independently by scholars eager to share their knowledge. All can be downloaded as PDF files for easy reference.
