Announcing the Inaugural JPP Library Services Team

Japan Past & Present (JPP) is pleased to announce the selection of four outstanding professionals to serve on our inaugural Library Services Team—a group of volunteer Japan specialists in library and information sciences, typically employed at libraries, archives, museums, or other relevant institutions.
The members of JPP’s first Library Services Team, whose term will last from December 15, 2024 to December 15, 2026, are:
Risa Hatanaka 畑中理沙 (Librarian, The Japan Foundation, Toronto)
Nobu Kawaguchi 川口亘代 (Reading Room Coordinator, ICICS/CS Reading Room, University of British Columbia)
Kristen Luck クリステン・ラック (Okinawa Collection and Japan Resource Center Librarian, George Washington University
Billy Tringali ビリー・トリンガリ (Instruction Librarian, Indiana University Indianapolis; Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Anime and Manga Studies)
In the short term, these individuals will assist JPP administrators and project teams with information science-related questions and issues pertaining to the development of online and offline JPP projects and resources. In the long term, these individuals will contribute to strategic initiatives in support of the development and accessibility of global library resources for scholars and students of the Japanese humanities.
We look forward to working with the Library Services Team over the coming years as JPP pursues many new and exciting initiatives!
